The EKMEKÇİOĞLU Group enters into the brick and tile industry and opens its first factory in İzmir. |
Year 1961 |
The EKMEKÇİOĞLU Group moves to Istanbul, initially renting from Yapı Kredi Bank the Topser Factory, which it soon came to own. |
Year 1962 |
The Group rents the Paşabahçe Brick Factory. |
Year 1963 |
The Group buys and extends the Küçüksu Brick Factory. |
Year 1964 |
The Group purchases land in Mürefte where it immediately begins building a brick factory. |
Year 1965 |
Mürefte Brick Factory starts production. |
Year 1970 |
With a strong background in the brick and tile industry, the Group begins talks with German, Italian, French, British and Spanish Firms to discuss building a high capacity factory using the newest technologies.

Year 1971 |
KİLSAN KİL SANAYİ ve TİCARET A.Ş. is established. Due to the high capacity target of 1050 ton per day, the German firms, Rieter Werke and Keller are contracted. The EKMEKÇİOĞLU Group's experience, knowledge, stability and confident insistence play a crucial role in the accomplishment of the project.

Year 1974 |
KİLSAN Brick Factory starts production with the biggest kiln capacity in the brick and tile industry throughout the world. Topser, Paşabahçe and Küçüksu Factories close.

Year 1981 |
KİLSAN Brick Factory changes the kiln's energy source from petroleum to coal. |
Year 1988 |
With an experienced background in the sector, the Group starts a new project to use the latest technologies and to increase its product quality. All the machinery, high-low voltage electricity installations and equipments assembly are provided by Ekma Makina San. ve Ticaret A.Ş., a sister machinery production company in the EKMEKÇİOĞLU Group. |
Year 1989 |
KİLSAN Brick Factory increases its capacity by rebuilding the clay preparation section, and by doubling its production lines and dryers. |
Year 1990 |
Kiln capacity increases to 2100 ton per day. |
Year 1991 |
To use the full capacity of the kiln and to produce new varieties, the company invests on a third production line project. |
Year 1992 |
The third production line that uses Keller Technology starts operations. |
Year 1993 |
KILSAN continues to produce with an increasing variety of products in
its 45,000 m² factory building located on a 270,000 m² of land. Kilsan's
electricity, electronic and mechanical needs are all provided by Ekma
Makina San. ve Tic. A.S. which also provides all spare parts, moulds,
chrome platting and maintenance during production. |

Year 1996 |
New inve stment is made for improvement projects which allow for the increase in clay preparation quality while reducing production cost. |
Year 1998 |
Kilsan starts using environmental friendly LPG pre-firing system that also increases the capacity of the kiln and the product quality. |
Year 2005 |
During the past few years, the Group continues to invest in projects which reduce the cost and increase the efficiency of production. It has also built a private forest that contains 20,000 trees. |
